Just as predicted, Sonam Kapoor will be the weakest link in Dolly ki Doli, but from what I can see it’s a innovative way of seeing things. It reminds of two recent films, Tanu Weds Manu and Bunty and Bubli, both rolled into one!
Unlike these two films, though, Sonam doesn’t have Rani’s bubbly-ness and Kangana’s acting skills to match the role of Dolly. I see her Dolly falling flat (just like her Milli) yet again. How many times must I cry myself hoarse for actors to do what they do best, I mean, I get versatility and diversity, but look what happens when you take an actor meant for more dramatic roles and put them in “pop princess” restraint-jacket. Sonam has the innate ability to be a dramatic actress, and seeing her in these roles breaks my heart every time (okay well maybe not break!).
On a different note, I’d say the men will outshine the “woman” again! I guess, that’s Kapoor’s modus operandi, to be outshone by her co-stars, either way I’ll wait and see…
Also, the music is all shades of horrible. Spare our ears, please and thanks!
